Review of the movie " Reluctant Fundamentalism"

Review of the movie:

"Reluctant Fundamentalism"

Image result for reluctant fundamentalist movie

This is also a Post Colonial movie and related to the question of identity.

This is 2012 political thriller drama film based on 2007 novel, 'The Reluctant Fundamentalism' by Mohsin Hamid, Movie id directed by Mira Nair, and screen play by William Wheeler, staring by Riz Ahemedad and Kate Hudson in lead role. This movie impact of the AI Queda attack on one Pakistani man and his treatment by Americans in reaction to them.

This movie is about a one man Changez Khan, a Pakistani man who goes to America for job and to make his good future. He easily mixed up with the environment and people of America. Everything was well going but his life changed after the attack of 9/11 on America. American people starting to doubt on him because he comes from Pakistan. He becomes symbol of terror for Americans. He faces many adversity and finally he commit professional suicide and came back to Pakistan.

After the attack of 9/11 all Americans think that Changez Khan is a terrorist coming from pakistan and doing work for that. His friends and his boss also do bed behaviour with Changez, and he also loss his job. His girlfriend also hate him just for he was muslim comes from Pakistan. He faces hatred from the Americans. So, with the identity of Muslim from Pakistan he faces lots of problems in America.

After faces that kind of hatred from Americans, he decided to live in Pakistan. In the University he taught the students as a proffeser, and the students give him respect also, so there is not any identity problemsin the Pakistan.

So, this film shows after effects of 9/11 attack also. Other countries people always remain other, through they believe it theirs. Native people will hate them. This is good film to getting idea of American's treatment with Muslims and their view point towards Muslims. It is not only Muslim Community but all orient hated by white country. So, this is good film for Post Colonial studies.

  Thank you....

Review of the movie Midnight's children

Review of the movie "Midnight's Children"

'Midnight's Children' is a film adaptation of Salman Rushdie's 1981 novel, the same name. The film is directed by Deepa Mehta. This film represent many realistic facts, magic realism, mythical technique and magical element, something that is unreal or unbelievable. Mr.Rushdie and Mrs. Gandhi became enemies when 'Midnight's Children' was published in 1981. Because this novel is covering over 60 years in a turbulent history of India and Pakistan from the end of the of the Second world war up to Indira Gandhi's repressive "Emergency" of the 1970s.

The main Protagonist of the film is Saleem Sunai, he is the narrator of the film. He started his story from the time of his grandfather. This film is creating many confusion, that confusion about parents of two children, who born the same night of 14th August,1947. But the christian nurse change that both children , she change them for desire of her lover Joe for same reason, he did not want the partition of the India. He told nurse to exchange children of poor and rich. The idea of tacking money from rich and give it to poor. So, it is revolutionary or Marxist idea.

This novel raises the ontological question of Saleem's life. We can find several gray areas about Saleem's identity. When we ask Question at that time we find several information about his existence and identity. Here we also find the problem of hybridity. The aim of Salman Rushdie to write this book is all about the situation which was faced by him, in partition time.

Political crisis is one of the major events of the Novel. Which portrayed the India during 'Indira Gandhi's rule. Emergency is word - known political crisis for India. Salman Rushdie masks fun of India's progress by suggesting that India and Saleem Grew together.

In the movie Salman Rushdie discribe the  mixture of hindi and english language. People influenced by the english language and english culture. Every human being play a political game with eachother. So, their relation is not so good with the others.

At the end of the movie Hindu, Muslim and Christine three identity is presented. So, We can say that in this movie there is we find post Colonialism.

Thank You....
