Feminist reading of Hermione Granger in Harry Potter:
- The feminist idea in Harry Potter we seen that through the most popular character Hermione Granger. In the movie we see that the character of Hermione is more claver and intelligent than other two characters, Harry and Ron. She was looking very strong. She also reflects as a independent and intellectual girl. She always perform the right spell. In classroom, she gives more attention towards the studies. she capture thing very quickly and also use in different troubles. J.K.Rowing describes Hermione's character very challenging in her novel. She belong to the 'Muggle-Blood', so she got insulted so many times by Melfoy. In the movies Hermione's character reflects so naturally, and also shows the situation of woman in male dominant society. Also Hermione depicts the image of strong independent woman in modern society. Although Hermione one of the main character , she is not much developed as good well as Harry. We didn't know enough about Hermione's own ambitions and her family background. It is like that the sole purpose of the character of Hermione is to help Harry, and become love interest of Ron. As being a leading female character this could be considered as injustice of the character of Hermione. even though J.K.Rowling herself is the woman we could expect that she would create a much more detailed female character, but J.K.Rowling fails the reader here.
