Review of the play- Digdarshak by Rishit Jhaveri

Here i am sharing my view about the play Digdarshak

It is a Hindi drama we can say that- one act play.

This play is very good performed and also an award winner play. It is also played into Gujarati and Hindi language. The main theme of the play is about theater life. And we can say that the conflict between Theater VS Cinema. The protagonist of the play, the Director , is in a favor of Theater and the another character his son, also in favor of Cinema. The director also dislike whom to joining film industry/cinema. we see here Art for the Art sake VS Art for the life's sake. 

We also can say that its main theme was Theater VS Cinema. Another theme was Art VS Family. The director loves his art more than his family. So, he prefer more time with his art not with his family. Director even do not give priority to his son's birthday but give his time to the theater. So, that way Director goes far from his family and also loose attachment from his family. As a father he would not play well role in his family. He think that it is batter to spend time in theater not waste in family.

Another thing we see into the play is 'Play within the Play', it means that we see one main play Digdarshak and into the play within the play a man who plays role of Digdarshak. As the digdarshak of the play we see all the things very close, and also feels the emotion of the characters. But in that case the character of the digdarshak do not see all the close things of his family and do not feel any emotion of family member, and he also live in the life of theater. he dedicated his whole life to drama and theater.

So, at the last i can say the overall the play is beautifully directed by Rishit Jhaveri. And both the actors play a good role. When we think to see drama we assume that there were many characters are there, but we find only two characters into this play and they both are play good role. Both the actors gives us good message also that so it is not feel board to audience. Setting is also very simple, there are only ordinary things. Clothing is also as simple as so that we can say that, simplicity is the best policy to get success.
