Here i am present my point of view about the oneness of literature.
This task was also related to the Northrop Frye's concept of oneness of Literature. He tell us that all literature are same at the one place. In the Poem 'Wasteland' by T. S. Eliot there are also some lines also related to myth or history. The characters are different but the story is same in such a way. In the poem 'Wasteland' we see that the character 'Marie' as a symbol of love and her story also connected with the Greek or other myth.
In the Poem 'Wasteland' we see that the picture of childhood memory. Marie was remind her happy days with her cousin, whose name is Archduke. They both are going at the top of the mountain for the for the sled, but she was frightened, so his cousin said to her that,' hold me tight'. It is also a symbol of lust and sexuality. It is also a theme of the poem.
'A Joke' short story by Russian writer Anton Chekhov, it is also connected with the poem 'Wasteland'. The main character of the story 'Nadia' and the speaker both are talking about their happy days in the story. like the poem 'Wasteland' here we see that the same situation in the short story. They both are going for the sled at the top of mountain, and when they come down to the mountain the speaker says that,' i love you, Nadia', but she forget what she here. But now she was married with someone and she have three children.
speaker don't forget her and now he recall his memory with the Nadia and think about that happy days. Love should be pure without any lust or jealousy. so, it is also a 'joke' for him. In the poem we see that myth of legend of Tristan and Isolate, it is also story about the lover and beloved and fall down comes because of jealousy. so, lust and sexuality not only the symbol of the love but the symbol of fall down of spirituality.
Here i have questioned in my mind that can we say that this concept of 'spontaneous overflew of powerful feelings' given by the Wordsworth in his work 'Lyrical Ballad'. Because in the poem and the shot story we see that the speaker and the Cousin of 'Marie' both are recollected their memory in their mind they thought about their happy days which is also connected with their past. That is not actual situation of right now but in the past some specific time they recollected so i think that it is related to that Wordsworth's concept.
